BELIEFS + VALUES

What does Harvest Vineyard believe?

In a world of despair, fear, and anxiety, God has called us as Harvest Vineyard Church to build and be a community of HOPE. We want to do this in a way that avoids hype and manipulation and yet still has enthusiasm, joy and reverence.

ENCOUNTER CHRIST.
EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY.
LOVE THE WORLD.

We believe that experiencing the love and mercy of God is more effective in bringing change to people's lives than rules, guilt, and condemnation. We have attempted to make our community a place where people can come as they are and still experience love and mercy. At the same time, we desire to learn and apply the truth of God to our lives and learn how to speak truth to one another.
These values are important to us

RESPONSIVENESS

We believe that Jesus is our Head and the Holy Spirit our Counselor. We seek to be responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in our personal lives and in every area of the church's life and ministry.

REALITY

We want every expression of ours—whether speech, music, or manner—to be non-hyped, natural, and reality-based. This doesn't mean that things are watered down, but we want to "package" the truth in ways that are real.

RELATIONSHIP

We value genuine relationship with God and with others. We believe God intends for more than a collection of individuals or a crowd. God is looking for a community of people who share a corporate value system. Following Jesus happens in the context of relationships, not in isolation.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

We seek completely truthful, consistent and open relationships with God, with others, and with ourselves.

MULTIPLICATION

We want to partner with Jesus in the kingdom reality of reproducing followers of Jesus, leaders, ministries, and churches.

OUTWARD FOCUS

Jesus said that he did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45) We do not exist for ourselves. We want to carry on Jesus' ministry of serving and extending compassion and truth to those in our sphere of influence.
