Volunteer to serve kids in a classroom (6 months - Grade 4) during one of our Sunday services! In this role, you will experience teaching a Kingdom-focused lesson, participating in making Jesus known to kids, and creating a fun, safe environment to do so.

Youth

We have monthly gatherings for middle school students, high school students, and parents. These usually include a time of worship, ministry, teaching, and discussion. Our goal is to meet with God to be challenged, encouraged, and equipped.

WEEKEND SERVICES

Hospitality Team

Our hospitality team serves in the cafe for 1 service every 4-5 weeks. Help prepare coffee and snacks, set up communion, and wash dishes during a weekend service.

Worship Team

We are always interested in musicians who can play an instrument or sing on the worship team. Worship team members play for all weekend services and are expected to arrive early for a rehearsal. Contact Cory to set up an audition.

Clean Team

We are looking for new volunteers to join the HVC cleaning team so that we can re-open Harvest and keep it open. If you would like to receive more info about the weekly, 1- hour cleaning opportunities available, contact Anna.

    Our audio, video, and lighting technicians keep our weekend services running seamlessly!  Previous experience is a bonus, but we have training available as well.  You can serve in our main auditorium or on our children's ministry sound team.

  • PRAYER TEAM - WEEKEND SERVICES

    If you'd like to be on the team that prays for people up front on the weekend, the 1st step is to attend our Prayer Training workshop that is offered quarterly. After that, we will pair you with a current prayer team member on a weekend to pray for others and receive feedback/coaching.

  • EVENT PLANNING

    If you're interested in special event planning, set-up, tear-down and decorating, we have various parties, family nights and outreaches that require a team of people like you.

  • FOOD AT FIRST - SECOND SUNDAY

    Help us bless others by serving a free community meal at First Christian Church in Ames on the second Sunday of each month. There are two shifts: set up and cooking from 3:30-5:30pm and serving and clean up from 5:15-7:15pm. Feel free to show up for one or both!   • PAID CHILDCARE - WEEKDAYS

  • WELCOME TEAM - WEEKEND SERVICES

    Our welcome is the first impression as you arrive at church! This team hands out bulletins at a service and says hello to those arriving.

  • VISITATION

    One of the biggest ways to impact and care for someone when they are going through a transition or crisis is by simply "being" with them. We love to spend time with new moms, people recovering in the hospital, and those grieving. Contact Kent if you have a heart for this area.
